why can’t I make or receive calls?

If you can’t make or receive phone calls, you should first try and turn your mobile phone off and back on again. Sometimes mobile phone handsets may need to be reset this way.

There also may be some areas in Australia that do not have network coverage. If you can get coverage in some areas but not others, then your mobile service is working, it just means that the area you’re not getting a signal in is not covered by our network coverage.

If you have turned your mobile phone on and off, and you’ve checked that the area you are in is covered by our network, then your mobile phone may not be compatible or locked to another network.

• MATE uses a combination of 1800MHz /700MHz 4G bands for coverage with 2600MHz added for capacity in selected areas.
• We also use the 850MHz (n5) and 3500MHZ (n78) 5G bands

You should also check that your handset is not locked and can support the above bands. You can check this with your previous provider, or whoever you purchased the handset from.
