When moving house, it’s important to know what to take — and what to leave behind.
✅ Take with you:
Your modem/router — whether you bought it from MATE or are using your own (BYO), it’s yours to keep and bring to your new place.
🚫 Leave behind:
Any nbn supplied equipment such as the nbn connection box (also known as an NTD), power cord, and any included cables (like coaxial or telephone cords).
💡 Tip: nbn equipment is linked to your address and won’t work at your new home. Taking it with you could delay your new connection — and might mean a charge for replacement.
When you move into your new home, our team will organise the correct nbn equipment based on the connection type at your new address. Just let us know you’re moving and we’ll sort it for you — that’s what mates are for!
