From time to time, external factors mean we need to adjust our pricing. We want to be upfront with you about what’s changing and why.
Why the changes?
From 1 July 2025, the wholesale pricing that nbn charges us for internet services is increasing again as part of the Federal government and nbn’s annual wholesale pricing review (view official update), which includes CPI adjustments.
In addition, rising energy costs, significant increases in compliance and privacy costs, superannuation increases, and other operational expenses continue to impact the cost of providing your service. These changes affect all internet providers in Australia, including MATE.
Australians are using more internet than ever, with higher-quality streaming, video calls, gaming and remote work becoming part of daily life.
We always try to absorb increases where we can. However, to maintain the level of service, support, and network reliability you expect, a small increase to our retail nbn pricing is required.

When will this take effect?
For existing MATE customers, the updated pricing will take effect from August 2025 with specific dates to be communicated by email.
If you currently have any discounts applied to your service, such as our MATE30 promotion, the discount amount will continue to apply against the new price for the remainder of your promotional period.
