Our mobile pricing is changing

At MATE, we always aim to provide great value, local support 7 days a week, and mobile plans you can count on — without the nonsense.

From time to time, external factors mean we need to adjust our pricing. We want to be upfront with you about what’s changing and why.

Why the changes?

From September 2025, updated pricing and inclusions will apply across our mobile plan range.

These changes reflect rising wholesale and operational costs, including network access, compliance obligations, and general inflation. To continue delivering high-quality mobile plans with no lock-in contracts and Aussie support, a small price increase is required.

But it’s not just a price change – we’re also increasing data inclusions across the board, and upgrading plan features like 5G, speed caps and data bank limits for selected plans.

What’s changing for existing customers?

💡 Tip: All of our mobile plans still come with unlimited talk & text, no lock-in contracts, and access to Australia’s trusted mobile network.

What’s changing for new customers?

From 3 September 2025, we are simplifying our mobile plan range and will offer three mobile plans for sign-up or plan changes:

  • Better Mates 32GB – $32/month
  • Best Mates 60GB – $42/month
  • Soul Mates 160GB – $57/month

If you’re a new customer, or you’re an existing customer on a different plan and wish to switch, these will be your available options going forward.

When will this take effect?

For existing MATE customers, the new pricing and inclusions will apply from sometime in September 2025. We’ll send you an email with the exact date before the change hits your bill.

For new MATE customers, our new mobile plan range will apply from 3 September 2025.
