If your home is connected with nbn Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), we won’t know the exact speeds available up to the nbn Network Boundary Point until your service is up and running.
That’s because FTTC uses the existing copper telephone line for the final part of the connection. And with copper, the speed you get can vary depending on the quality and length of that cable.
Your speeds on FTTC might be impacted by:
- your maximum available line rate
- your in-home setup and equipment
- your internal wiring
Currently, nbn guarantees a minimum download speed of 25Mbps on FTTC services. This is expected to increase to 50Mbps download in the future.
Once your service is active, we’ll run a line state test with nbn to confirm that your speeds are within spec. If there are any issues, we’ll be in touch within your first month of service to sort things out.
