You’ll need an nbn-compatible modem or router to get connected with MATE — but the type depends on your connection.
🏠 If you’re on FTTP, HFC, FTTC or Fixed Wireless:
Your modem must have a dedicated WAN or Internet port.

You’ll need a modem that supports VDSL technology.
See compatible models here.If you’ve got a modem/router from a previous provider, it might work with MATE — as long as it’s not locked to that provider. Unfortunately, the only way to check if it’s locked is to try and set it up with our service.
If it turns out to be locked, you’ll need to grab a different modem. We also offer our own pre-configured TP-Link VX230v modem/router for a plug-and-play setup.
