In an FTTC setup, fibre is extended close to your premises and connects to a small Distribution Point Unit (DPU) located in a nearby pit. From there, your existing copper line connects to the fibre network.
Inside your home, an nbn FTTC connection device (also known as an NCD) is used to power the service and link your premises to the nbn network. This plugs directly into a standard telephone wall socket and connects to your router via an Ethernet cable.
If you do not already have an FTTC connection device, we’ll provide one when your service is activated. Depending on your setup, you may be eligible for self-installation or an nbn technician may need to visit your property.
