If you have Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), the main clue is that you’ll have a cable wall outlet, not a phone socket.
What to look for:
- A wall outlet for a coaxial cable
- An nbn connection box inside your home
- A cable running from the wall outlet into that nbn box
- Your router plugged into the nbn connection box
You may also have an nbn utility box outside on a wall.
In simple terms:
- Cable wall outlet
- Then nbn connection box
- Then your router
A lot of customers say the wall outlet looks a bit like an old Foxtel or pay TV socket.
💡 Tip: If your modem or router does not plug straight into the wall, and instead plugs into an nbn connection box connected to a cable outlet, you’re likely on HFC.
