Fixed Wireless is usually the easiest one to spot, because it normally includes an outdoor antenna on the roof or outside wall of your home.
What to look for:
- A panel-style antenna outside your home
- An nbn connection box inside
- A wall outlet and power outlet near that inside box
- Your router connected inside the home
In simple terms:
- Outside antenna
- Then inside nbn connection box
- Then your router
If you live in a more regional area and can see an antenna mounted outside your home, that’s a strong sign you may have Fixed Wireless.
Fixed Wireless does not normally use a phone wall socket like FTTN or FTTB, and it does not use a cable wall outlet like HFC.
💡 Tip: If you can see a proper antenna outside your home, you’re very unlikely to be on FTTP, FTTN, FTTB, FTTC or HFC. That usually points to Fixed Wireless.
