How do I activate my MATE SIM card?

To activate your MATE SIM card, log in to the myMATE app or self-care portal and go to the “My Orders” section.

Once you submit your activation request, here’s what happens:

  1. If you’re transferring (porting) your mobile number from another provider, your current SIM will keep working even after you submit the activation. Don’t insert your MATE SIM card just yet.
  2. We’ll send a verification code via SMS to the mobile number you’re transferring. You’ll need to enter this code under “My Orders” in the myMATE app or self-care portal to approve the transfer.
  3. Once approved, the number transfer can take up to 24 hours. Transfers only happen during business hours: Monday–Friday (8am–8pm AEST) and Saturday (10am–6pm AEST). No transfers occur on Sundays or public holidays.
  4. You’ll get an SMS and email once your activation is successful. If your current SIM suddenly stops working before that, it’s safe to pop in your MATE SIM.
