What do I need to get the full speed on Scorchin’ Fast nbn 2000?

The Scorchin’ Fast nbn 2000 plan is designed for homes that need the highest level of performance, offering theoretical maximum speeds of 2000 Mbps on eligible FTTP and HFC connections. To get the most out of this plan, your home setup and equipment need to support ultra fast speeds.

Eligibility

Your address must qualify for the Home Hyperfast speed tier. This will be checked automatically when you sign up.

  • FTTP: 2000 Mbps download and 200 Mbps upload
  • HFC: 2000 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload

nbn equipment requirements

Some homes may need an upgraded nbn Network Termination Device to support Scorchin’ Fast speeds.

Router requirements

Routers for 2000 Mbps plans must support multi gigabit performance. Standard Gigabit routers are not suitable.

  • Wi Fi 6 minimum
  • Wi Fi 6E or Wi Fi 7 recommended for best performance
  • 2.5 Gbps WAN port required
  • 2.5 Gbps LAN ports for wired devices
  • Cat6 or Cat6a Ethernet cables
💡 Tip: Many routers support fast Wi-Fi but cannot deliver 2000 Mbps over Ethernet. Always check the WAN and LAN port speeds before buying.

Device compatibility

To experience speeds close to 2000 Mbps, your devices must also support high throughput.

  • Computers should support 2.5 Gbps Ethernet or Wi Fi 6 or higher
  • MacBooks may require a USB C to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet adapter
  • Gaming consoles and smart TVs should support modern Wi Fi or wired Ethernet

In home setup

Your internal wiring and network layout must be able to handle multi gigabit speeds. Older routers, older Ethernet cables or relying on Wi Fi only will limit your performance.
