All MATE services use CGNAT by default. For most customers, this works perfectly fine and won’t impact everyday things like browsing, streaming or video calls.
In some cases though — like work VPN access, online gaming or remote security cameras — you might need a little extra setup.
If you run into issues, the first thing we recommend is enabling IPv6 on your modem or router.
You can follow our guide on how to enable IPv6 for some of the most common modem and router brands. Not sure how to do it? Check your modem manufacturer’s instructions or reach out to our team — we’re always happy to point you in the right direction.
If IPv6 doesn’t sort it out, get in touch with our support team and we’ll review your connection and talk through the next steps with you. In some cases, this may include applying a static IP address where suitable, which allows you to opt out of CGNAT.
