Do I need to enable roaming before travelling?
Only on your handset. No extra steps are needed in the myMATE app. When you add a roaming pack, roaming is automatically switched on at a network level. You just need to make sure Data Roaming is turned on in your handset settings when you arrive and are ready to use your pack.
Can I stack or add more than one roaming pack?
- Buying the same roaming pack again will replace your current pack and any unused data will be lost. You’ll still be charged for the new pack, so if you still have data remaining it’s best to wait before purchasing the same pack again.
- You can have different roaming packs active at the same time, for example a Pacific Pack and a Global Pack.
- You can add up to 2 different roaming packs within any 24-hour period, with the limit resetting at midnight AEST. If you need more sooner, get in touch with our support team and we’ll help you out.
Can I pause my roaming pack?
No. Once your roaming pack has started, it can’t be paused, cancelled or put on hold.
If you don’t need to use roaming for a period of time, you can turn off Mobile Data or Data Roaming in your handset settings to help avoid using your pack inclusions.
Can I limit how much roaming data I use?
Yes. The best way to limit usage is to turn off Mobile Data or Data Roaming when you don’t need it, such as when you’re connected to Wi-Fi at your hotel, accommodation or airport. You can turn it back on when you need to use mobile data again.
