By default, all MATE internet services use dynamic IP addresses and operate through Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT). This means your public IP address can change periodically and is shared across multiple users — a common setup for modern broadband services.
For everyday activities like browsing, streaming Netflix or YouTube, video calls, or using smart home devices, dynamic IP addresses work just fine and shouldn’t cause any issues.
But if you’re using your connection for more advanced purposes — like accessing your home network remotely, setting up security cameras, connecting to work VPNs, or hosting services — there may be cases where your setup needs a little extra help.
If you’re running into problems with services like:
- 🔐 VPN access for remote work
- 📷 Security cameras or home network access
- 🎮 Online gaming connectivity
- 📞 VoIP services (like making or receiving calls)
- 🧠 Or anything else that might rely on a stable IP setup
We might be able to help with a workaround — including in some cases assigning a static IP — depending on your situation and what’s technically available.
