Most newer smartphones only do video calling through apps rather than the carrier network, so many newer phones can’t start a video call directly over the MATE mobile network.

💡 Tip: For most people, app-based video calls are easier and cost nothing extra. Apps like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Google Meet, Facebook Messenger and Skype use your Wi-Fi or mobile data, so there are no network charges.
