What are your payment methods?

We offer two payment options — and one of them is fee-free!

  • 🏦 Direct debit (bank account)fee-free
  • 💳 Credit or debit card — 1% surcharge applies (Visa and Mastercard only)
  • 💳 AMEX — 2.85% surcharge applies

All cards must be issued in Australia. We don’t accept BPay, PayPal, Centrepay, or invoice payment methods.

⚠️ Heads up: Direct debit payments can take up to 3 business days to process. If you’re in a hurry, use a card instead to avoid delays.

How can I update my payment method?

💻 Online (self-care portal)

Log in to the MATE self-care portal and click Update payment to choose between direct debit (bank account) or card.

Open the myMATE app and tap Update payment to choose between direct debit (bank account) or card.

📞 By phone

You can update your card details over the phone by calling us on 13 14 13 and following the prompts. However, you cannot switch to direct debit (bank account) by phone — this must be done through the app or self-care portal.
