This guide covers the configuration of the NetComm NF20 for nbn connection types Fibre to the Node (FTTN)<\/a> and Fibre to the Building (FTTB)<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n To set up the NetComm NF20 for nbn Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)<\/a>, Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)<\/a>, Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)<\/a> or Fixed Wireless<\/a>, refer to our FTTP\/HFC\/FTTC\/Fixed Wireless setup guide for the NetComm NF17ACV<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Ensure your modem\/router is plugged in to the wall and powered ON. Once your device has powered on, perform a HARD RESET to clear any previous ISP settings. To perform a hard reset:<\/p>\n Once your device has finished performing the reset sequence, you will now need to plug an RJ-11 telephone cable from the DSL port on the back of your modem\/router to the telephone wall socket located in your home (as per your activation instructions).<\/p>\n Your device should connect to the internet within a couple of minutes, however allow up to 15 MINUTES for this.<\/p>\n If your device has connected to the internet, great! You do not need to proceed any further.<\/p>\n If you are still offline<\/strong>, proceed to next steps below for an alternate option to try and get online.<\/p>\n Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the NetComm NF20 modem on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the NetComm NF20 modem, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the modem from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the sticker on the back of the NetComm NF20 modem, underneath the barcodes.<\/p>\n PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE NETCOMM NF20 MODEM OR ACCESS THE MODEM GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow Eth ports on the back of the NetComm NF20 modem.<\/p>\n Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter\u00a0192.168.20.1<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. Enter\u00a0admin<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>for the username and\u00a0admin<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>for the password.<\/p>\n If this doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the sticker on the back of the NetComm NF20 modem. Enter this password.<\/p>\n Once you have logged in, you will have several options listed along the left of the page.<\/p>\n First, click\u00a0Advanced Setup<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0WAN Service<\/strong><\/span>. You will see a table in the middle. Find the \u201cRemove<\/strong><\/span>\u201d column of the table, and tick all boxes in the column.<\/p>\n Then, tick the \u201cRemove<\/strong><\/span>\u201d button under the table.<\/p>\n Then click\u00a0Basic Setup<\/strong><\/span>. In the middle,\u00a0choose\u00a0VDSL<\/b><\/span>\u00a0Then choose\u00a0Next<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n Next, select\u00a0IP over Ethernet (IPoE)<\/span>, <\/strong>then hit ‘NEXT<\/span>‘.<\/strong><\/p>\n Hit ‘NEXT<\/span>‘\u00a0<\/strong>on the following screen, and you should land on the WAN Basic Set-up Summary page. Once you have reached this page, hit\u00a0‘APPLY\/SAVE’<\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Your device should connect to the internet within a couple of minutes, but allow up to\u00a010 minutes<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>for this.<\/p>\n If you are still offline, proceed with the PPPoE configuration instructions below to connect to the internet.<\/strong><\/p>\n Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). You will see a table in the middle. Find the “Remove<\/strong><\/span>” column of the table, and tick all boxes in the column.<\/p>\n Then, tick the “Remove<\/strong><\/span>” button under the table.<\/p>\n Then click Basic Setup<\/strong>. In the middle,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0choose<\/span> VDSL<\/b><\/span> Then choose Next<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n In the middle, click PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) with no VLAN Tag<\/span><\/strong>. Then click Next.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n You will need to enter your MATE service username and password in the field as as follows:<\/p>\n User ID: 000000000000000@wba.matenbn.com.au<\/span><\/strong> (your MATE service username would have been emailed to you during the order process) Then press “Finish<\/strong><\/span>“.<\/p>\n You now need to plug your NetComm NF20 modem into your telephone wall socket using an RJ-11 telephone cable.<\/p>\n One end of the telephone cable needs to be plugged into the grey DSL<\/span> port on the back of the modem and the other end into the telephone wall socket in your home.<\/p>\n You will need to wait for the DSL<\/span> light on the front of your modem to turn solid \u2013 this may take up to 15 minutes. DO NOT UNPLUG THE MODEM DURING THIS TIME.<\/p>\n If the DSL light on the front does not turn solid after 15 minutes and you have more than one socket in the home, please plug your NetComm NF20 modem into any other available telephone sockets in your home, and turn the power on and off once plugged in.<\/p>\n Leave your NetComm NF20 modem plugged into each telephone wall socket for up to 15 minutes until the DSL light on the modem turns solid. Once this occurs, the Internet<\/span> light should also illuminate.<\/p>\n If the DSL light on your NetComm NF20 modem does not turn solid after 15 minutes and you have tried to connect this on all available telephone wall sockets in your home, please contact our support team<\/a> for further troubleshooting.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
