Ensure the coaxial cable connection is plugged in via the included white cable from the back of the HFC connection box. Plug the other end of the power cable into a power wall outlet in your home and switch the power outlet on.<\/p>\n<p>You will now need to wait for all four lights (POWER, DOWNSTREAM, UPSTREAM, ONLINE) on the front of the HFC connection box to turn solid green.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #ffebee; border-left: 5px solid #d32f2f;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Important warning\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\u2757\ufe0f Important:<\/span> This may take up to 10 minutes. You can usually find this printed on the back or bottom of the device.<\/li>\n<li>Log in with the default username (usually <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">admin<\/span>) and password (usually <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">admin<\/span> or <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">password<\/span>). If these don\u2019t work, check your modem\u2019s manual, manufacturer\u2019s website, or perform a factory reset.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the Internet Setup or WAN Setup section. If your modem has a Setup Wizard, follow it. When prompted, enter:\n<ul>\n<li>Connection Type \/ Encapsulation: <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">PPPoE (preferred)<\/span> or <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">IPoE\/DHCP<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Service Type \/ Access Type: <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Ethernet WAN<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If using PPPoE, enter the username and password from your MATE welcome email.<\/li>\n<li>Enable IPv6 if available, set to DHCPv6 or Auto Config (SLAAC).<\/li>\n<li>Save your settings and wait for the modem to connect. Lights should be green, blue or another \u2018positive\u2019 colour. Flashing lights usually indicate activity.<\/li>\n<li>Test your connection by visiting a website.
