The router will then restart &#8211; this may take a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Once the router has been reset, ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n<p>Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the TP-Link TL-WR841N router on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the TP-Link TL-WR841N router, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the router from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the bottom of the TP-Link TL-WR841N router and is usually labelled &#8220;Wireless Password\/PIN&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE TP-LINK TL-WR841N ROUTER OR ACCESS THE ROUTER GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow LAN ports on the back of the TP-Link TL-WR841N router.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10290 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TL-WR841N_side.jpg\" alt=\"Tl Wr841n Side\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TL-WR841N_side.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TL-WR841N_side-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TL-WR841N_side-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TL-WR841N_side-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 2 - log into your router","content":"<p>Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>tplinkmodem.net<\/strong><\/span> into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>If this does not work, you can also try and enter <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">192.168.1.1<\/span> <\/strong>into the address bar.<\/p>\n<p>If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. Enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> for the username and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> for the password.<\/p>\n<p>If this doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the sticker on the bottom of the TP-Link TL-WR841N router, usually labelled &#8220;Default Access&#8221;. Enter this password.<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 3 - enter the MATE settings into your router","content":"<p>Once you have logged in, you will have several options listed on the left of the page. Click &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Network<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;. Then, underneath this, click &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>WAN<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;. On some models, this option may appear as &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>EWAN<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;. Click this option.<\/p>\n<p>There will now be multiple options presented.
