Yes, in most cases you can keep your landline number when switching to MATE \u2014 as long as it\u2019s still active<\/strong> with your current provider.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/strong> Make sure your landline number stays active – if it\u2019s cancelled or disconnected during the transfer, we won\u2019t be able to keep it.<\/div>\n

\ud83d\udd01 How number porting works<\/h3>\n

Number porting (transferring your landline to MATE) is a manual process and can take 2 to 6 weeks<\/strong>. This only starts after<\/strong> your MATE nbn internet service has been activated.<\/p>\n

During this time, your landline must remain active with your old provider. If it\u2019s disconnected before the port completes, the number is lost and can\u2019t be recovered.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/strong> We\u2019ll let you know once your number has been successfully ported. Until then, keep it active with your current provider.<\/div>\n

\ud83d\udcde What you\u2019ll need to use your number with MATE<\/h3>\n

Once the number has been ported, it will work through your MATE nbn home phone (VoIP) service<\/strong>. To use this, you\u2019ll need a VoIP-compatible modem or device<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re bringing your own modem or VoIP device, we\u2019ll email you the configuration details. Please note that we don\u2019t offer setup support<\/strong> for BYO VoIP hardware.<\/p>\n
