It&#8217;s sometimes called Fibre to the Basement.<\/p>\n<p>With FTTB, fibre is run to your building\u2019s communications room, where the <strong>Main Distribution Frame (MDF)<\/strong> is located. From there, the connection uses your building\u2019s existing copper phone lines to reach each individual unit.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #d7f6e6; border-left: 5px solid #00b26b;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Helpful tip\"><strong>\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/strong> If you&#8217;re on FTTB, there\u2019s no nbn connection box (NTD) inside your home. Your modem connects to a standard telephone socket.<\/div>\n<p>To get connected, you\u2019ll need a <strong>VDSL2-compatible modem<\/strong>.
