It uses a fibre optic line that runs directly to an nbn connection box (also called a Network Termination Device or NTD) inside your home.<\/p>\n

If this device hasn\u2019t already been installed, someone over the age of 18 will need to be home for the technician visit. Here\u2019s what to expect:<\/p>\n

  1. The technician will connect a fibre optic cable from your street to an nbn utility box<\/strong> mounted outside your home.<\/li>\n
  2. They\u2019ll then drill a small hole through your wall to run the cable inside, connecting it to the nbn connection box (NTD)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    \ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/strong> The nbn connection box needs power, so make sure there’s a power point nearby!<\/div>\n

    To get online, you\u2019ll need a router with a WAN port<\/strong> that plugs into the nbn connection box. You can either use your own BYO router or grab one from us when you sign up.<\/p>\n
