Our SIMs run on the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network and work with most devices sold through reputable Australian retailers.<\/p>\n<p>MATE does not support Internet of Things (IoT) or machine-to-machine (M2M) services. That means you can&#8217;t use a MATE SIM in connected devices that aren&#8217;t standard phones or tablets.<\/p>\n<h4>What counts as an IoT or M2M device?<\/h4>\n<p>These are usually devices that connect to a network on their own, without being a phone or tablet. They can include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Security or CCTV cameras that take a SIM card<\/li>\n<li>Smart gates or solar gates<\/li>\n<li>Vehicle or asset trackers<\/li>\n<li>IoT or M2M devices used for monitoring or remote control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #fff8e1; border-left: 5px solid #f9a825;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Important note\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\ud83d\udca1 Note:<\/span> Using a MATE SIM in a device type we don&#8217;t support can lead to your service being suspended or disconnected.<\/div>\n<h4>Why doesn&#8217;t MATE support IoT services?<\/h4>\n<p>IoT services use dedicated numbering ranges (including numbers starting with 09 or 19) that are set aside for connected devices under the Australian Telecommunications Numbering Plan.<\/p>\n<p>MATE provides standard mobile services with 04 numbers only, so IoT numbers can&#8217;t be used on or transferred to our network.<\/p>\n<h4>How can I tell if a device is compatible?<\/h4>\n<p>When you&#8217;re choosing a new phone or tablet, a few quick checks will help make sure it&#8217;ll work on MATE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buy from a reputable Australian retailer or supplier<\/li>\n<li>Check it&#8217;s advertised as compatible with Australian mobile networks<\/li>\n<li>Confirm it supports the required mobile bands<\/li>\n<li>Avoid grey-market imports or devices that don&#8217;t clearly state Australian compatibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not sure, check with the retailer or manufacturer before you buy.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #f5f5f5; border-left: 5px solid #9e9e9e;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"More information\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\u2139\ufe0f More information:<\/span> Want to check which bands your device needs?
