If we’ve sent you here, your connection has a “Service Class”. It’s a code the nbn uses to describe how ready your address is to be connected, and it tells us roughly how long your connection should take. Find your Service Class below (it’ll be in the email we sent you) to see the typical timeframe and what happens next.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 Note:<\/span> These are typical lead times, not guarantees. Your actual timeframe can vary depending on technician availability, whether equipment needs to be installed, and local demand.<\/div>\n

FTTP (Fibre to the Premises)<\/h4>\n

SC0<\/td>\nNot available yet<\/td>\nYour address isn’t ready for an nbn connection, and more work is required before an order can be placed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC1<\/td>\n2 to 10 business days<\/td>\nAn nbn technician will need to install the fibre connection to your home and your nbn connection box.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC2<\/td>\n2 to 10 business days<\/td>\nFibre has already been installed to your property, but an nbn technician still needs to install your nbn connection box.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC3<\/td>\nSame day to 1 business day<\/td>\nYou’re good to go. Your nbn connection box is already installed and working, so in most cases we can activate your service without a technician.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

FTTN \/ FTTB (Fibre to the Node \/ Building)<\/h4>\n

SC12<\/td>\n2 to 10 business days<\/td>\nYour address is almost ready. Some additional network work or a technician visit may still be required before activation.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC13<\/td>\nSame day<\/td>\nYour connection is ready to go. Once your service is activated, plug a compatible modem into your telephone wall socket and we’ll activate your service.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial)<\/h4>\n

SC22<\/td>\n2 to 10 business days<\/td>\nThe cable is already in place, but an nbn technician still needs to install the nbn connection box.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC23<\/td>\n2 to 10 business days<\/td>\nYour nbn connection box may need to be installed or delivered before your service can be activated.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC24<\/td>\nSame day to 1 business day<\/td>\nEverything is already installed. In most cases your service can be activated within 24 hours if the nbn HFC Connection Device is at the premises. If it’s missing, let us know and we’ll arrange a replacement before activation.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

SC33<\/td>\n9 to 14 business days<\/td>\nYour address is close to being ready, but an nbn technician may still need to complete some work.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
SC34<\/td>\nSame day to 1 business day<\/td>\nYou’re ready to connect if the white nbn FTTC Connection Device is already there. This usually takes 24 hours. If it’s missing, let us know and we’ll arrange a replacement before activation (this can take 9 to 14 business days).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

SC6<\/td>\nSame day to 1 business day<\/td>\nYour equipment is already installed, so in most cases we can activate your service without a technician, usually within 24 hours.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Will my modem work?<\/h4>\n

Some connection types let you use your own modem, while others use equipment the nbn installs. If you’re bringing your own, it’s worth checking it’s compatible before your connection date so you’re ready to go the moment your service is active.
