Here is a simple guide on what you need and what happens when you order, whether you are getting a new connection or transferring from another provider.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Your address must support nbn&#8217;s <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Home Hyperfast<\/span> speed tier. What you receive depends on your connection type:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">HFC:<\/span> You will receive an nbn HFC Connection Box as a <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">self install kit<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">FTTP:<\/span> An nbn technician may need to install a new FTTP Connection Box inside your home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #d7f6e6; border-left: 5px solid #00b26b;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Helpful tip\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/span> Scorchin&#8217; Fast speeds also need the right home equipment like Wi-Fi 6 or better, CAT6 cabling and 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports. You can read more in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/faq\/router-for-fast-nbn-plans\">router requirements guide<\/a>.<\/div>\n<h3>What happens when you order<\/h3>\n<h4>New connections<\/h4>\n<p>If you are getting a brand new service:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will receive either a technician appointment or a self install kit (HFC only).<\/li>\n<li>Your service will activate once the required equipment is installed or delivered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Switching to MATE from another provider<\/h4>\n<p>If your home already has the newest nbn connection box, your Scorchin&#8217; Fast plan will activate once the transfer completes.<\/p>\n<p>If your home <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">does not<\/span> have the latest equipment needed for 2000 Mbps speeds, your service will be set up in two steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We first activate a temporary service\u00a0so you can get online straight away.<\/li>\n<li>Once your service is active, we organise the equipment upgrade needed for Scorchin&#8217; Fast speeds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>HFC homes<\/h4>\n<p>After your service switches to MATE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We request the upgrade.<\/li>\n<li>nbn will ship you a new HFC Connection Box (self install kit).<\/li>\n<li>You will receive shipping details by email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>FTTP homes<\/h4>\n<p>After your service switches to MATE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We request the upgrade.<\/li>\n<li>nbn will book a technician appointment to install the new FTTP Connection Box.<\/li>\n<li>You will receive booking details by email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the upgraded equipment is installed, your home will be moved to full Scorchin&#8217; Fast speeds.
