AVC<\/strong> stands for Access Virtual Circuit<\/em>. It\u2019s a unique code that identifies your active nbn<\/a>\u00ae connection – think of it like a booking reference for your internet. It tells nbn\u00ae exactly which service to connect at your address.<\/p>\n

Why it matters<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re transferring your nbn\u00ae service from another provider<\/strong>, we’ll always need your AVC ID \u2014 nbn\u00ae requires it to complete the transfer. This ensures we link the right line at your address and avoid unnecessary downtime.<\/p>\n

If your order fails with a ‘duplicate service\u2019 error, we may require your AVC ID. You can read more in our why did my nbn\u00ae order fail guide.<\/a>\n

If you’re setting up a brand new service with no active nbn\u00ae connection<\/strong>, you won\u2019t need to provide an AVC ID.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/strong> In apartments or shared buildings, your AVC ID is especially important. There may be multiple nbn\u00ae connections at the same address \u2014 this code tells us exactly which one is yours.<\/div>\n

Where to find your AVC ID with MATE<\/h3>\n

If you’re already with MATE, your AVC ID is shown on your monthly invoice \u2014 right next to your active nbn\u00ae service. Look for it under your service details, usually on the first page of the invoice, near your service identifier.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also find it in our self-care portal<\/a> under the \u201ctax invoices<\/strong>\u201d section.<\/p>\n

An AVC ID starts with AVC<\/strong> followed by 12 digits. For example: AVC000123456789<\/code><\/p>\n

Switching to MATE?<\/h3>\n

If you’re joining us from another provider, try to get your AVC ID before signing up. Just ask your current provider \u2014 they\u2019ll know where to find it. Then, pass it on to us at sign-up, and we\u2019ll take care of the rest.<\/p>\nHeads up: without your AVC ID, we can\u2019t complete a transfer order \u2014 so it\u2019s always best to have it handy before signing up.<\/em>\n
