This makes sure you get the speeds you are paying for.<\/p>\n<h3>Minimum router requirements<\/h3>\n<p>To get the most out of your high speed nbn plan, your modem or router should have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Gigabit WAN port<\/span> for 500 Mbps and 1000 Mbps plans<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Multi Gigabit WAN and LAN ports<\/span> (minimum 2.5 Gbps) for Scorchin\u2019 Fast 2000 plans<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Gigabit LAN ports<\/span> to support fast wired connections<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Wi Fi 6 (802.11ax)<\/span> as the minimum for high speed Wi Fi<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Wi Fi 6E or Wi Fi 7<\/span> recommended for the highest speeds<\/li>\n<li>At least <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Wi Fi 5 (802.11ac)<\/span> for reliable performance on 500 Mbps plans<\/li>\n<li>A <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">CAT6 or better<\/span> Ethernet cable between your nbn equipment and router<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #d7f6e6; border-left: 5px solid #00b26b;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Helpful tip\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/span> If your router is more than five years old, it may struggle on any high speed plan and will not support 2000 Mbps speeds at all.<\/div>\n<h3>Extra requirements for Scorchin\u2019 Fast nbn 2000 plans<\/h3>\n<p>If you are using a Scorchin\u2019 Fast nbn 2000 plan, there are additional equipment requirements to achieve the best performance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Multi Gigabit Ethernet ports<\/span> (minimum 2.5 Gbps) on both WAN and LAN<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Wi Fi 6<\/span> minimum, with <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Wi Fi 6E or Wi Fi 7<\/span> recommended<\/li>\n<li>Devices such as laptops, desktops, gaming consoles and smart TVs should support <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">2.5 Gbps Ethernet<\/span> or Wi Fi 6 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Some MacBooks require a <span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">USB C to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet adapter<\/span> for full speeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 1em; background-color: #d7f6e6; border-left: 5px solid #00b26b;\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Helpful tip\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">\ud83d\udca1 Tip:<\/span> For 2000 Mbps plans, Wi Fi only setups will not reach full speed.
